English Cooking Lesson

On Monday, January 12th, 8th year students in the conversational English lesson enjoyed an afternoon of baking. The school’s kitchen was full of students baking an American pastry called “Cheddar Drop Biscuits.” Students had the opportunity to work in teams, learn cooking vocabulary, and follow a recipe all in English. Students not only created the baked goods from scratch, but they also learned how to create a herb based topping for the golden biscuits. Overall, students walked away with a new understanding of American cuisine, the real application of the English language, and full stomachs. Our cooking class was a success, and we look forward to our next creation next month!
